Founded through a cross-sector collaboration in 2015 by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, National Council of Social Service, Social Enterprise Association, and Tote Board, raiSE champions Social Enterprises that are creating impactful change through their businesses.
raiSE was officially launched by former President of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, in 2015.

We set the standard for what a good business should be. At the helm are our Social Enterprises, steering their businesses towards their goals while using a framework to measure and communicate their impact. The raiSE Social Impact Framework empowers every raiSE Social Enterprise to clearly articulate their social impact, providing transparency for you to understand their efforts before choosing to buy from them.
Beyond that, we have built an ecosystem of resources designed to empower our Social Enterprises, providing the support needed to grow sustainably and create lasting change.

Ms Theresa Sim

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
Theresa Sim is an Assurance Partner, Chief Financial Controller, Business Transformation Leader and a member of the Leadership Team of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Singapore.
Ms Sim has more than 20 years of professional experience in providing audit and related advisory services including due diligence for purposes of mergers / acquisitions and other consulting work. Her clientele base covers a wide spectrum of industries which includes property development and management, retail, oil and gas, manufacturing and trading; cutting across SGX listed, government-linked and multinational companies.
Through servicing a diversified client base, she has accumulated in-depth knowledge of group audit coordination and reporting requirements in various GAAPs and can value-add in areas of financial, governance, controls and risk management.
She is presently also the Executive Committee Member / Honorary Treasurer of the Singapore Children’s Society and Board Member of Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund.

Ms Tan Li San

National Council of Social Service
Ms Tan Li San joined the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) on 6 January 2020 as CEO-Designate, and took over as Chief Executive Officer on 1 June 2020.
Prior to this, Ms Tan has held various positions in the Singapore government including roles in the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ministry of Manpower, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Ministry of Finance, Public Service Division, and the Civil Service College.
She was a member of the Social Service Sector Strategic Thrusts (4ST) Steering Committee, and served on the boards of several Social Service Agencies before joining NCSS.

Mr John Tang

GIC Pte Ltd
John Tang is a Managing Director at GIC’s private equity group. GIC is the fund manager for the foreign reserves of Singapore, which manages in excess of US$100 billion. In his 19 years at GIC, John has invested in private equity and venture capital funds and companies around the world, especially US and China.
John currently heads the global CIO’s Office for private equity and infrastructure investments and has been an investment committee member for more than 10 years. He also co-chairs GIC’s Technology Business Group. Prior, John was Head of the US Funds and Co-Investment Group based out of New York, and Head of Global Venture Capital based in Silicon Valley.
Starting his career as a system’s engineer at IBM, John joined strategy firm Bain & Company after graduating from Harvard Business School in 1996. He graduated from Imperial College UK with a BEng (First Class Hons) and MSc in Computing.
John is Singaporean and currently serves on the NTU (Nanyang Technological University) Endowment Investment Committee, and is a board member of RaiSE, the sector developer for social enterprise in Singapore. He also serves as a selection panel member for the World Economic Forum Tech Pioneers Program.

Ms Anna Yip

International Digital Services, Singtel
Ms Anna Yip, 54, was appointed CEO, International Digital Services on 1 January 2025. The new business unit, expanded from the previous Business Development function, focuses on building new telco-related digital services in the region, strengthening partnerships and enhancing synergies across the Singtel Group and regional associates.
Prior to this, Anna was Deputy CEO, Singtel Singapore, a role she has held following the integration of the Singapore consumer and enterprise units. Anna joined Singtel as Deputy CEO, Consumer Singapore on 7 December 2020 and was appointed CEO, Consumer Singapore since 1 April 2021.
Before joining Singtel, Anna was CEO and Executive Director of Smartone Telecommunications, driving its operations in Hong Kong and Macau from 2016 to 2020. Under her leadership, Smartone was named Best Mobile Carrier by the Communication Association of Hong Kong in 2019. Prior to Smartone, Anna headed up Mastercard’s operations in Hong Kong and Macau. She was previously a partner with McKinsey & Company in Greater China where she led both the Financial Institutional Group and payments practice.
Anna was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of Telkomsel on 1 June 2021. She also sits on the Board of Advisors of Singapore Management University’s Institute of Service Excellence and is an independent non-executive director of BUPA (Asia) Limited, as well as a Council member of the Singapore Cancer Society.
Anna holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy in Management Studies from Oxford University and a First-Class Honours degree in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr Greg Unsworth

PwC
Greg has been based in Singapore for more than 16 years and has more than 30 years of international experience with PwC. Greg is PwC’s digital business leader and leads the Risk Assurance practice in Singapore. He has also previously served as PwC’s technology industry leader for the Asia Pacific region. Greg is a member of our firm’s leadership team and has extensive experience providing professional services to companies globally, having also previously worked in our London, Sydney and Tokyo offices.
Greg has extensive experience providing audit and advisory services to various clients, particularly in the technology, media and telecom sectors and has specialised in serving these sectors for more than 20 years. Greg also has extensive experience with IFRS, US GAAP and other international reporting frameworks. Greg works regularly with PwC’s global specialists on trends and developments related to digital technologies and has previously served on the Technologies and Research & Development sub-committee for the Singapore Government’s 2025 Infocomm Media Masterplan.

Mr Hasan Abdul Rahman

Halaal Food Manufacturing Pte Ltd
From a young age, Hasan has always been involved in the family business, assisting wherever possible, taught by his parents the importance of sustenance. After completion of National Service, he joined the family business full time and was trained by his parents to manage the operations of their hawker stall and food manufacturing facility. The training encompasses: food outlet management, culinary skills for food production, sales & marketing, logistics & warehousing, and administrative duties (HR, invoicing, etc)
In 2015, Hasan was given the responsibility by his parents to take up ownership of the company and to transform from a hawker-styled business to a corporate organization with a mission and vision based on values. New business activities were incorporated such as importation and butchery of meat & poultry. With the support of government grants, digitalization and automation projects were implemented resulting in an increased efficiency and effectiveness of administrative and manufacturing processes, and new revenue stream from e-commerce platforms.
Halaal Food Manufacturing Pte Ltd was incorporated in 2019 as a holding company for Pondok Abang and Straits Butchering Company. With the increased output and intensive business development endeavours, he has successfully distributed Halal frozen food to the food service sectors (supermarkets, frozen food retailers, F&B establishments).
2022 was marked as a milestone as he embarked on a regionalization journey, successfully exporting to Vietnam and incorporated subsidiaries in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Ms Lim Ee Ling

Wavesparks
Ee Ling Lim is the former Executive Director of Market Launch at 500 Global, a multi-stage venture capital fund with more than $2.7 billion in assets under management that has invested in over 2,800 fast-growing technology companies, including 50+ companies valued at $1B+.
At 500 Global, Ee Ling oversees the strategic development and implementation of 500’s startup programs in strategic and high potential markets globally, including Egypt, Georgia, Canada, Israel, Taiwan, Japan, and more. She also advises governments, corporations, and foundations in designing and developing startup ecosystems and innovation programs.
Ee Ling is also the co-founder of a K-12 edutech startup equipping students with digital technology and entrepreneurship education, and Wavesparks (f.k.a Young Founders Summit), a startup program for high school students in Asia that provides aspiring teenage founders with workshops and mentorship to launch impact-based startups.
Previously, Ee Ling was an Investment Banker with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and CIMB Investment Bank, advising large listed corporations on M&A, equity and debt capital market transactions in Southeast Asia.
Ee Ling is a Council Member of National Youth Council Singapore and National Youth Fund Advisory Committee, and is also recognized as Singapore’s 100 Women in Tech by the Infocomm Media Development Authority.

Ms Melanie Ng

Blackstone Finance Group
Melanie is a Managing Director in the Blackstone Finance Group and is the Head of APAC Corporate Finance based in Singapore. Ms. Ng provides supervisory oversight to the day-to-day management of all accounting, tax, treasury management, corporate and regulatory reporting for Blackstone’s APAC corporate entities.
Before joining Blackstone in 2019, Ms. Ng worked at BlackRock in Singapore as their Head of Controller for Southeast Asia, Korea, and Taiwan. Before her 5-year career at Blackrock, she spent 5 years at MGPA as the Global Business Controller.
Prior to that, Ms. Ng held various senior finance leadership roles at Nomura and Lend Lease, both in Australia and Singapore. Ms. Ng received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a qualified Chartered Accountant of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1999. She also served as the Council Member of the Singapore Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand from 2021-2022.
Ms. Ng actively champions talent growth in Singapore and gender diversity & inclusion (D&I) in the workplace. She has been a Female Champion with the Financial Women’s Association of Singapore since 2019. She speaks fluent English, Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Ms Ng Jiak See

Jiak See has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, auditing and business, financial and accounting advisory services. She has managed assignments in industries such as F&B, retail, logistics, insurance, property, manufacturing, and hotels. She has considerable experience in M&A, fundraising, business expansion strategy, management consulting, corporate and shareholder restructuring, debt restructuring, due diligence, IPO, RTO, valuation, financial planning, and post-merger integration.

Mr Suhaimi Zainul-Abidin

Quantedge Capital
Mr Suhaimi Zainul-Abidin is CEO of Quantedge Capital and is director of Quantedge Foundation, which supports charitable causes in Singapore with a focus on improving social mobility.
He was formerly Partner at Allen & Gledhill LLP., advising financial institutions and blue-chip corporations in financial transactions. Suhaimi is a strong believer in skills-based volunteering and leverages on his corporate experience to contribute on the boards of various organisations, He currently holds directorships at National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, Skillsfuture Singapore, National Environment Agency, The Esplanade, Quantedge Foundation and TalentTrust Limited. He is also Chairman of Learning Gateway Ltd and Tri Sector Charity Consultants.
He previously served as Council Member of the Charity Council and during which time he chaired the Charity Transparency Framework Review Committee and was a Committee member for the review of the Code of Governance for Charities.

Fairuz Fadiah

Fairuz has 11 years of accounting and finance experience in the local social service sector. He has worked closely with local Volunteer Welfare Organisations as well as directly with beneficiaries for various social enterprise projects, focusing on youths at risk and ex-offenders. In his previous position, he helped lead his organisation from an accumulated surplus of $2mil to $10mil in 10 years. His professional background, coupled with his passion for the social sector, also prompted Fairuz to lead several fundraising events.

Erwin Chan

Erwin has a PhD in Biomedical Research and is interested in seeing systemic transformations in healthcare. During his post-graduate days, Erwin led medical and dental teams to Cambodia and facilitated social innovation projects in Indonesia and Australia. In 2012, Erwin co-founded a medical device startup that focused on developing solutions for chronic pain management. After failing, he became interested in understanding how the entrepreneurial experience can enrich the personal leadership journey. Erwin was part of the team that won first place at the MITx Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in 2016. He is a Certified Instructor for “Disciplined Entrepreneurship” for new venture creation. Erwin has taught in universities & polytechnics including Bioentrepreneurship at NTU. He also volunteers as a mentor in developing children & youths holistically.

Alwyn Ang

Later, he ventured into startups, diversifying his entrepreneurial expertise across multiple roles and industries. Now, armed with invaluable experience, he aims to support Social Enterprises with a renewed perspective.
