About BLOOM IT

Bloom IT is a Singapore-based social enterprise that was previously known as Simple IT! Our main focus is to reignite the people's passion for IT and help them to blossom. We will provide support the senior citizens in their digital acquisition journey, making it as easy and as financially affordable for them as possible. This would reduce the chance of them feeling socially marginalised because of the lack of digital skills, for a caring and inclusive society in Singapore. Senior citizens may lose their confidence in learning IT due to the lack of support. We hope to help them through more hands-on learning and provide more guidance, hoping for them to gain more confidence and interest in IT.

Technology adoption lessons

Bloom IT focuses on supporting senior citizens in their lifelong learning, in various aspects of technology. We provide learning for the different types of technology in smartphones, how to use basic computer skills or computer software and expose them to getting updated on new technology. Lessons are carried out on various platforms such as physical settings, online settings, and self-learning videos on our YouTube channel, etc. These lessons are specially curated for seniors to help them learn slowly and ask questions. Class interactions amongst students, engagement, and the after-class support from our trainers ensure seniors are not left alone. We also organize competitions to encourage seniors to practice what they have learned and learn from each other. We currently conduct more than 30 different courses in both Chinese and English mediums, ranging from: Digital Photo Editing using Smartphone, to YouTube Video Production, Learning to Learn and Being Safe Online.
